Thailand is one of the most breathtaking countries in the world, with its beautiful beaches, stunning scenery and its pleasant people. It is the home to exquisite food bursting with flavour; coconut, and delicious spices, rice and noodles.
Thailand houses luxurious spas, offering treatments such as the tranquil Thai massage, perfect for a relaxing evening treat, and fish foot spas where tiny fish nibble off dead skin cells on the foot.
Thailand’s islands are stunningly lush, and perhaps the most beautiful of all is Koh Phi Phi.
When people think of Koh Phi Phi, they think of the film The Beach and of the tsunami which devastated its shores back in 2004. But the small island has recovered well, and amazingly hasn’t let the disaster hold it back, and the island is still perhaps the most beautiful tropical island in the world.
There are two islands which are classed as Koh Phi Phi; Koh Phi Phi Don (the bigger one where visitors lodge) and Koh Phi Phi Leh (the smaller one where the Beach was filmed). Koh Phi Phi Leh is uninhabited by humans, but a major tourist attraction. Boat loads of people reach its shores every day, and usually a swim from the boat is required. Koh Phi Phi Don isn’t very far away. This is the island where the hotels are located, where the food markets entice passers-by with their delicious smells, where the cyclists ride through crowded streets and where the nightlife lures in its younger guests.
There are lots of things to entertain on Koh Phi Phi Don; from the beach parties to day cruises, to simply lying on the beautiful beach. One of the things which must be experienced here is the sunset. Be sure to climb to the viewpoint just before dusk and witness one of the most stunning sun sets in the world. It really is worth the hike!
Thailand really is a country that has something to offer everybody, from fabulous cuisine, to lazy days soaking up the sun, to beach parties unlike any others in the whole world. Visit the Land of Smiles for the trip of a lifetime. There really isn’t a friendlier nation.
