Flights to Corfu from Teesside will start in July
This new route follows the previously introduced flights from Teesside to Alicante and Majorca and represents “another huge vote of confidence” in the airport, as told by Tees Valley Major Ben Houchen.
Ryanair’s commercial director, Jason McGuinness, declared: “Our connections to Palma de Mallorca and Alicante are proving to be a popular choice for Teesside consumers and we’re pleased to expand the region’s connectivity with this new route to Corfu, bringing a third holiday destination for British families to enjoy this summer.
“Teesside Airport continue to work to deliver efficient operations and competitive airport charges, which offer the means for long-term traffic growth and new routes.”
The Teesside-Corfu route is part of a deal between the British airport and the Irish airline. Securing a low-cost operator was indeed essential to the airport’s ten-year overhaul plan, which is going faster than the expectations.
