Former police officer Derek Chauvin was convicted of the murder of George Floyd. He killed the man by blocking him with his knee on his neck for several minutes, until he could no longer breathe.
The murder has provoked many protests about racial justice both in the United States and around the world. The jury’s decision, however, unanimously condemned Chauvin for all charges.
It’s about second-degree, third-degree and manslaughter. They’ve come to the conclusion that the ex-cop killed 46-year-old George Floyd with a criminal assault. In fact, she blocked him in a way that he couldn’t breathe anymore. Lack of oxygen resulted in Floyd’s death, with brain damage and therefore heart failure.
